Zennor
Located on Duke Street in the East End on Glasgow, Zennor is a small coffee space that offers a host of specialty filter coffees, espresso and, you guessed it… matcha. This place particularly caught my eye as I thought that the shop’s interior/exterior seemed extremely stylish and modern. Additionally, each time I walk by Zennor it’s always busy, usually full of people either sitting enjoying food or standing as they wait for their drink. Zennor’s menu is not overly exhaustive and in terms of matcha, there is not a huge choice. Just the usual hot or iced matcha with an option of a few basic syrups like vanilla, however, I never judge a cafe based on a simplistic menu. If anything this hints to me that Zennor would prefer you to enjoy your matcha latte free from the presence of overpowering flavourings and syrups. I have been to this spot a total of three times, though I would like to review it based on my last visit, as I feel that, due to the fact that I chose to take my drink away, I was not able to properly enjoy all that Zennor has to offer. This time, I ordered a vanilla matcha latte and chose to sit in.

I honestly think that this was one of the most enjoyable matcha lattes that I have ever had. The quality of the drink absolutely took me back and I found myself pleasantly surprised. In terms of colour, well, just look it!
I have never had such green matcha from a coffee shop before! It was also in absolutely no way bitter or too powdery, further showing that this beautiful, vibrant colour is pure quality. It was truly just a 10/10 matcha latte. The vanilla syrup was subtle in the best way, adding only a little sweetness but without covering and overpowering every note in the matcha. Moreover, I found the drink to be perfectly whisked, with no clumps or an uneven texture and the milk was the perfect balance of foam and velvety creaminess, overall combining to create a drink that you will not be able to stop thinking about. It is absolutely one of the best matcha lattes in Glasgow.
If you have ever passed Zennor while out on a walk along Duke Street, or seen a video about it on Tiktok or Instagram and thought to yourself: “maybe I should try there”, take this as your sign to go as soon as possible. You will not regret it and I can guarantee you will leave feeling significantly happier.
Sounds great! Will definitely be paying Zennor a visit soon
